Welcome to Ogden Dunes Community Church!
Our Vision and Values:

Ogden Dunes Community Church seeks to joyfully lead people to the transofrming love of Christ. We accomplish our vision by:

Pursuit:  We are a church that commits ourselves to the truth of God’s word and its centrality to our lives as we reflect the love of Jesus Christ to all.

Passion:  We are a church that desires an intimate relationship with God that can be shared with others to help bring healing and restoration to broken hearts.

Prayer:  We are a church that prays!  We believe in its power through God’s Holy Spirit to transform lives, communities, nations, and the world to his glory.

Hopsitality:  We are a church that enjoys God and his people!  We desire to build a church where you are known, cared for, and encouraged to grow in your faith, and in the fellowship of God’s people.

Purpose:  We are a church that believes God has a plan and purpose for our lives.  Our worship services and ministries are intentional in their outreach to encourage and equip you to live your best life and equip others to find theirs by sound biblical teaching, discipleship, and fellowship.

Creativity: We are a church that believes we were created by God to create beauty. This pursuit of creativity inspires the design of our worship services, influences our building design, and invites others to join in God's reconciling ministry by creating beauty that unites all things to God.

Part of a Rich Tradition!
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

The first organizing meeting of what was to become the congregation of the Ogden Dunes Community Church, met in November 1951. The group became a mission group of the First United Presbyterian Church of Gary. On February 22, 1953, a Sunday School was established, and a student from McCormick Seminary was hired as temporary supply.

The first service of worship was held in the Ogden Dunes Fire Station on Sunday, April 12, 1953. The following July, Logansport Presbytery approved the church's petition and the Ogden Dunes Community Church, Presbyterian was established. The service to celebrate the official organization of the church was held Sunday evening October 11, 1953 in the Ogden Dunes Fire Station.

The cornerstone for the current church building was set in place in 1958. The original church building consisted of the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Nursery, Classrooms and Kitchen.

In the early 1970's, a Capital Stewardship Program raised the funds to add office space, the pastor's office, and a South Hall. In 1996, the “Growing Our Faith Capital Stewardship Program” raised funds to add the Youth Education Center, the Upper Room, and expand the Fellowship Hall.

In 2019 and 2020 renovations to the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary were completed and were dedicated to service on June 6, 2021.
